Big Bandwidth Increase To Support Roots Audience Growth   (12/18/23)

The picture above is from our roof at the KETC TV building in Grand Center. The big SAT uplink dish in the center is for PBS. The smaller dish in the lower left corner sends The Roots’ audio to the top of the Continental building at the intersection of Olive Street and Grand Avenue. That is where our audio connects with two redundant gigabit fiber connections, delivering an 800% increase in our upload bandwidth. Since the installation two weeks ago, we have seen a dramatic increase in the speed and reliability of our connection to the six servers worldwide that broadcast The Roots—FM to you.
