St. Louis Music Royalty, Danny Liston, Will Host Weekly Roots Show

“I’ve never done something like this before and am a bit intimidated, but John Stephens has been very encouraging,” Liston said.

“I wanted Danny on The Roots seven days a week, but we compromised, and Danny will be on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. Dave Merkel has been helping with Danny’s training–not that he needs much. Danny is a natural,” Stephens said. “But there is a rumor that Ted Habeck has been secretly training Danny for over 25 years.”

The show will consist of music and stories that only Danny knows. Plans include guests and live performances. “We would love to do a couple of live shows and invite Roots members into the studio at KETC TV to let them participate,” Danny said.

Danny announced his new Roots show on Facebook Wednesday afternoon and asked his friends to suggest a name for the show. Over four-hundred names were suggested, and the winner is. . . . . . . .
